Here's what The Good Pub Guide 2013 has to say about us here at The Bull
'Bustling old pub, open all day, with much character in several rooms, candlelight and fresh flowers, real ales served by friendly staff and enjoyable food; seats outside. As it's open all day and in a pretty village, this well run old pub has a good mix of customers dropping in and out; on our visit there were a couple of cyclists in one corner and a group of chatty ladies enjoying morning coffee and pastries on the leather button-back chesterfield and armchairs by the inglenook log fire. This main bar has fresh flowers and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, with interesting landscape-patterned wallpaper on one wall with a button-back leather banquette beside it and solid dark wooden dining chairs and plush-topped stools around a mix of tables on bare boards. Sharps Doom Bar and Woodfordes Wherry on handpump, good wines by the glass and helpful service. By the entrance door there are some high bar chairs along counters by the windows; from here, it's a step up to a charming little room withjust four tables, brown-cushioned wooden dining chairs and a wall banquette, decorative logs in the fireplace, books on shelves, board games and an old typewriter. At the other end of the building is an elegantly furnished, part-carpeted and part-slate-floored dining room. Paintwork throughout is contemporary. The covered terrace has some church chairs and tables, there are picnic-sets on grass, and a small, equipped children's play area.'
